As a startup online business owner, promoting your product or service is a mandatory step in building your brand. Ezine advertising is a very affordable and effective method to use to spread word about your business. If you are looking to advertise in multiple ezines, you may decide to join a subscriber / ad co-op. What can you expect if you join a co-op? 1. You Will be Joining Multiple Ezines: Be prepared to join each ezine that is included in the group to have your ad run. This means you will receive many confirmation and welcome emails. Be sure to have an email address that can handle large amounts of email, spam/junk filters you can control to allow all the confirmations to come through, and an address that is not banned by ezine co-op programs. (Many free accounts have problems with filtering too many email and some publishers refuse to accept them.) If your email address bounces, the ezine may not run your ad. 2. You Will Be Met With Terrific Publisher Customer Support: If has been my experience that ezine publishers involved in the ad co-ops are tremendous business people. They take pride in their ezine and in their subscribers, so most of them are happy to assist you in any way they can. Be sure to find a co-op that believes in that same philosophy. 3. Your Ad Will be Run at Different Times: Most subscriber co-ops allow their publishers to decide run date for the ad. This is a benefit because one single ad submission may be run for the next several weeks. This keeps the ad spread out and visible for a longer time. Watch for notices from the editor as to when your ad will run, and read the issues to view their ad sections. 4. Your Ad will be Run in Multiple Formats: Publishers all handle their newsletters differently so be prepared to have ads run in several ways: an email format, an email and online version or an online only version. This also helps spread your ad across multiple formats and targets different viewers. Make sure you choose your ad co-op carefully. Some co-ops have great customer service and keep their ezine lists up to date. Others may not update their ezine lists regularly and you may be paying to run ads in ezines that no longer exist or participate in their co-op. Check for ad co-ops that detail their update schedule* and make sure they respond to customer service requests in a timely fashion so that you know you receive a quality ad submission. Running ezine ads is a great way to build brand recognition as well as establish relationships with business professionals who can assist you with your ads. The ezines you join are packed with solid advice and helpful tips. This can only benefit you on your journey to success. *The Ezine Ad Team runs an Ezine Ad Co-op that requests updates from the publishers on a monthly basis. If the ezine is not updated within 60 days, it is pulled from circulation until they renew their details. ©2009 Ezine Ad Team, All Rights Reserved.
