Ezine advertising can take a little known business and promote it quickly into a well known brand. It can take a few dollars spent on promotion and create a profit. Many people are familiar with what ezine advertising is, but may be unfamiliar with how to effectively promote a business to increase brand awareness and increase sales. Learn these simple steps to write better ads and target the proper audience. 1. Learn How to Write Great Headlines: Go to the store and look at the magazine racks. Headline copy sells magazines just as much as it could sell your product. Study the way headlines are written –write them down if you need to! - They use active words to engage you.
- They create mystery to encourage you to learn more.
- They give specific details to create curiosity.
"10 Easy Recipes to Spice up Your Dinner" and "Learn 5 Secrets Every Man Keeps" are a few examples that use these tips to capture attention. 2. Advertise to Those Who are Interested: Have you ever noticed that daytime television is filled with baby products or that the cable cartoon channels play more ads for breakfast cereal than you can imagine? That’s because the viewers watching that channel at that time are interested in that product. (And will beg their mom to buy the above mentioned breakfast cereal because they are certain they will win the free $25.00 dollar cash card inside.) Simply put, the advertisers are targeting their audience – and it works. Television advertisers selling motor oil understand that promoting their product during a daytime soap is not really a targeted audience, so make sure you understand the same. Find ezines that target your product. Find pet ezines if you sell dog collars, educational ezines if you promote study guides. The readers of those ezines will be more likely to read and be interested in your ad. Even if they do not buy from you now, they are more likely to remember your brand and may return to you the next time they need what you sell. Some advertisers feel that advertising to bigger ezines regardless of content will make up for not targeting their audience. You may get you ad in front of more people, but like I said, if you’re running an ad for motor oil to an ezine sharing parenting content, less eyes will probably be interested in your ad and more apt to forget you. 3. Run Your Ad Often – But Improve It: Unless your ad pulled in more customers than you can count, every ad can use revisions – but do it slowly. - Run the ad again, but change only one thing at a time: Alter the headline or perhaps change one or two body lines, but don’t do both at the same time.
- If your next ad run improves response, you know you are going in the right direction. Next time change some other minor detail to keep improving your ad response and brand awareness each time.
- If it pulls less then you know exactly what changed and you know the previous copy was a better choice. Try to alter a different aspect to see if that improves response.
Once your ad is converting to your satisfaction, then you can run it frequently in the ezines that provided the best results and/or provided the best customer service. Running ads multiple times allows the ezine readers to build confidence in your brand and stirs curiosity to follow your link if hey have not already. Classified ezine advertising is an effective method to promote your business. If you take the time to study your technique and improve on your ads, the benefits are plenty. After a few tries, it becomes easier to find ads that convert. Stick to it and you will be successful. ©2009 Ezine Advertising Team, All Rights Reserved.
